Mount St. Charles Fine Arts Summer Camp is a two-week, full-day co-ed summer program at Mount St. Charles Academy in Woonsocket for all children currently in grades 4-7. This year’s camp runs from July 18-29, Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Our camp will introduce young people to the fun and excitement of the Fine Arts. Campers will take a set schedule of six arts-related courses Week 1 and six for Week 2. Courses include a variety of art, dance, music, and drama courses as well as tech-related courses (computers and Geocaching) and problem-solving activities (like Escape the Room).

Archery This course, taught by a Phys Ed teacher and certified instructor, will introduce you to the exciting sport of archery. You’ll learn about safety, equipment, and shooting technique using our brand new, state-of-the-art bows and arrows.

Cricut An introduction to Cricut crafting! We'll complete fun personalized projects such as a reusable water bottle, a greeting card, and an iron-on decal. As beginner Cricut Campers, we will review the basics of using Cricut design space and the Cricut machine. We will go over how to choose, upload and use different fonts and images, how to measure items to ensure the correct size cut, and how to create the final product. Cross-stitch Learn the basics of counted cross-stitch as you begin with a simple but beautiful bookmark and work your way up to a framed project that you will want to hang in your home when camp finishes.
Escape the Room Each day you’ll be locked in a room, challenged with a new scenario, and given just 45 minutes to escape. In this amazing team-building experience, you’ll experience excitement, laughter and adrenaline rushes as you collaborate efficiently and effectively with others, united by your common goal - to escape!
Experimental Art Here’s your chance to think outside the box. In this course you’ll use your imagination to draw, paint, build, and assemble unique works of art with a variety of materials and in a variety of dimensions.
Intro to Filmmaking Use your imagination and learn how to bring your smartphone videos to a whole new level! From developing a concept, to directing your subject(s), to enhancing the lighting, color and clarity and editing your clips, you’ll complete this course with a share-worthy video and new skills that will benefit you on social media and at school!

Kumihimo Braiding Made popular by the samurai, who used Kumihimo cords as laces for their armor, Kumihimo is the traditional Japanese technique of braiding strands of silk or yarn to create elaborate colored cords. Strategy Games One side effect of the pandemic was renewed interest in non-digital games that had both social and mind-stimulating benefits. This course features some of the most popular and addicting strategy games, classics like Stratego and modern ones like Catan, which has gained worldwide popularity. The Sing-Off Just like the hit TV show! This course will introduce you to a cappella singing. We’ll teach you to sing in a variety of styles, from a variety of time periods, from doo-wop to the Beach Boys, from barbershop quartets to boy and girl band harmonies like N’Sync and Destiny’s Child. Your group will compete in front of judges in our annual Sing-Off! Wall Street This class is an introduction to business and the stock market. Learn how anyone, of any age, with a good idea can turn it into a business. You will also play a stock market simulation game to experience the excitement of investing (but at no risk).
Ukulele Great for students with no experience, the ukulele is one of the least complicated stringed instruments to learn and play. It’s easier to handle than a guitar, though guitar players will enjoy this class too! This introductory class will quickly make you a ukulele player with an emphasis on technique, music reading, chord symbols, scales, and ensemble performance, and is sure to be lots of fun!
